Queen's Domain Dagoom the Sea King: Boss Fight Guide

Dagoom the Sea King is the second headline boss in Queen’s Domain, waiting at the end of Obmuer Temple once the three Royal Orbewa Guard mini-bosses die and the sealed ring door opens. Expect a long attrition fight in ankle-deep water with poison hazards and add spawns. Save on a Crystal Monument right before you drop in, and read the weapon tier list so you are not carrying three weapons of the same damage type.

How Do You Reach Dagoom the Sea King?

The temple route assumes you already crossed the western bridge with two Wind Dashes (Wind Gems help) and placed the four Triangular Slates to open the temple proper. Inside you collect Trident Keys, optional gear like the Splash Hammer, and fight each Royal Guard on separate paths:

When all three fall, the circular door to the lower arena unlocks. Peek through the door first—you will see an obvious boss bowl—then backtrack to save and rest if needed. You can often return via air dashes and rock hopping without re-fighting Homopiscium if you avoid aggro.

What Does Dagoom Do During the Fight?

Launch-week guides describe the same toolkit:

Environmental hazards matter: portions of the water glow purple poison, currents push you, and poison shows as purple mist at the top of the screen. Neither guide documents formal HP phases beyond poison summons as health drops—we are not inventing percentage triggers.

Bestiary tables list Dagoom with 1,500 Life Points, 27 Attack Power, and Normal slash/impact/pierce defenses in Obmuer Temple, plus 3,000 EXP. Toxic Serfs share the temple location with 70 Life Points and Weak slash defense per the same table.

What Is the Safest Way to Beat Dagoom?

1. Stay on dry tiles when possible and do not chase Dagoom into purple water.
2. Keep moving so Toxic Serfs cannot surround you.
3. Use Wind Dash to escape whirlpools or bad footing before committing to a charged swing.
4. Throw daggers across hazards and apply Azure Torch burn when safe if you already picked up the torch on the Tower approach.
5. Carry Roasted Ojum Lizards to clear poison and top off Elixers after the Royal Guard gauntlet.

Slash weapons clearing small fish fast is one guide’s tip only; we did not find a second source naming an optimal melee type against Dagoom’s main body, so treat weapon choice as flexible unless you verify weaknesses in the bestiary (all Normal).

What Rewards and Story Progress Come From Dagoom?

• Silver Duck Figurine — deliver to Umbada’s shop for expanded stock, same figurine chain as the Stone Duck after Shrine Guardian.
• Treacherous Baleen — GameFAQs achievement entry: “Defeat Dagoom the Sea King.”
• Save and exit — a Crystal Monument and elevator immediately after the room, plus optional jewelry sales from crown drops.
• Tower access — the temple exit aligns with lighting the third exterior Gargoyle beacon, part of opening the Tower of Knowledge for the Storm Gem and later bosses.
